Social activism: Sanjay started “Utkrantivadi Yuvak Sanghatana” in 1985 to help youth fight unemployment by starting their own business. He then started his own industry in 1993 in Gadchiroli district which is Naxalite affected region and tried to promote industries in troubled areas like NE and J&K with the objective to make available local employment opportunities so that the youth will not turn to terrorism or separatism.
Being liberal, Sanjay always raised his voice against suppression of freedom to speech, unnecessary government regulations, and participated and led many agitations. He has stood against hate-based casteist organizations like Sambhaji Brigade and risked his life to fight them in the Waghya Statue (Raygad) and B. M. Purandare book controversy issue.
Sanjay has been with Swarna Bharat Party, India’s only liberal party, since 2014 because it suited his liberal ideology to make India a great country. With SBP he has been trying to promote liberty from various platforms and trying to create a mass movement of farmers to liberate them from the anti-farmers laws such as Land Ceiling and Essential Commodities Act.
Writing career: Sanjay is a published author of 77 Marathi and 10 English books that include novels, full length plays, short story collections, children's books, oriental research and linguistics. His research on the origins of the caste, which has been published in Marathi and English is giving new direction to activists engaged in the caste-eradication program.
He is a columnist for various newspapers. Presently he writes fortnightly for Daily Divya Marathi and weekly for Daily Sanchar on socio-economic issues. Besides he writes articles for several Marathi magazines on various topics. So far over one and half thousand articles have been published. Sanjay has also written screen plays for one English movie and two Marathi movies.

As a linguist: Sanjay has proposed a path breaking theory in linguistics to solve the problem of the origin of the languages. In his book, “Bhasheche Mul” (Origin of the Languages) Sanjay details this theory while elaborating the limitations of other theories. Presently he is translating this book to English.
Sanjay has have conducted research on ancient Maharashtri Prakrit. He knows various Marathi dialects well, including their accents and linguistic peculiarities.
Other activities: Sanjay is a frequent participant in social debates on various Marathi news channels. He has delivered over 500 speeches in the last ten years on social and historical issues. he has presided over 6 regional literary meets and is a well known in Maharashtra as an eminent thinker.
